Levant’s Hand-in-Hand program was designed with fun in mind. Focusing on arts, crafts, Dabke dance, and music, Hand-in-hand program was designed to create a safe transitioning space for newcomer children.

In 2017, Levant organized the Kids Hand-in-Hand program once a week and opened its doors to all children from different backgrounds. Newcomer kids had the opportunity to make new friends and learn new skills through various hands-on activities such as drawing and painting.

The program’s main purpose was to ensure that newcomer kids can find a safe space where they can communicate with other children their ages, find new hobbies through the several activities that were planned, and help the process of integration and involvement within the community.

With these weekly gatherings, the children had learned to introduce themselves in English, practice their conversational English skills, and be able to express themselves comfortably through painting, music, and dance.

Hand-in-Hand put children’s need to socialize and make friends first, focusing on quality time through cultural and artistic activities that enabled children to release their creative energy in a supportive environment.
