As of February 13, 2023, over 36,000 people are dead, and an estimated 5.3 million people have been made homeless in Turkey and Syria after 7.8 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes hit the region on February 6.

As aftershocks and freezing temperatures threaten more lives, political conflict and structural damage to aid corridors have slowed aid efforts in Northwestern Syria. The region is primarily home to millions of displaced Syrians who fled the war and depended on external aid to survive. People in the area have been left without shelter in freezing winter conditions and desperately need food, clean water, emergency shelter, and fuel.

The people of Northwestern Syria need our help. Levant Canada is collecting donations to help those who have been left behind. Money raised will enable Levant’s local volunteers to purchase and distribute the most urgently needed supplies.
