Support for Syrian Refugees

In 2014, Levant continued on its efforts of supporting Syrian refugees by mobilizing the Kitchener-Waterloo community to collect winter clothes, blankets and donations for Syrian refugees in refugee camps in Lebanon.

Update 1:

Thanks to the community, we were able to fill a 40 square foot container with donations. Thank you for all the volunteers who helped us with handling the donations:
Christ the Savior Orthodox Church
Stanley Park Community Church
St. Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church
Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox, Kitchener, ON
Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. Sophia, Waterloo
Kitchener and Guelph students and volunteers from the Aga Khan Ismaili Muslim Bait ul Ilm and Encounters Program's students and volunteers

Update 2:

We would like to announce that your donations have been sent to Turkey. From there, your warm donations will be smuggled into various camps and will reach hundreds of refugees.
We would like to deeply thank all of you. And we would also like to congratulate you for being such an amazing community. Through the past few weeks, we truly felt warm support and sincere sympathy towards the Syrian refugees. Our community donated blankets, boots, knitted sweaters, school supplies, clothes, knitted scarves, gloves, pillows, toys, rugs, and much much more. We had the community's firm support through every step of this fundraiser. People exceeded our expectations and came through at the most critical moments. We are truly grateful to be working with all of you
